Every year thousands of Chimney Swifts flock together and nest in the large chimney of the 1919 Building in Downtown Dublin. Spectators can expect to see upwards of 5,000 swifts descending into the old chimney late in the summer. All you need to observe these fascinating birds is fold out chair, a good pair of binoculars, and a cool beverage.
The best time to see the swifts is between 7:00PM and 9:00PM. They will begin swarming around 7:00 and will finish their descent into the chimney by 9:00 every night.

Coming from I-270 get off at the 33/161 Dublin Exit. This will take you directly into downtown Dublin. Follow 33/161 to the third traffic light (it will be a blinking yellow light) and the 1919 Building will be on your left. Turn left at the blinking yeloow light and park along the tennis courts. You should be able to see the swifts right above the building from your car.
